September 28- A Day Behind...

"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be removed." Says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

September 26

This is what the Lord says- Israels King and Redeemer, the Lord Almighty:
     I am the first, and I am the last; apart from me, there is no God. Who then is like me? Let him proclaim it.
     Let him declare and lay out before me what has happened since I established my ancient people, and what is yet to come- yes, let him foretell what will come.
...
     You are my witnesses. Is there any God beside me? No, there is no other rock. I know not one.

Isaiah 44:6-8

How can I depend on anything else in this world but him? There is no other rock! :)

Ephesians 2:1-22

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus"

that is SO amazing to me. Seated us with Him. WOW. I get to sit with God in the heavenly places. Cant wait :D

Isaiah 40:27-31

I LOVE this verse!It is such awesome encouragement. We just need to HOPE in the LORD!! :)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He alone chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will- to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the one he loves.

Ephesians 1:1-6

I really like this, because it shows me how much God loves me. He doesn't need me- he chose me "in accordance with his pleasure and will" but he loves me enough to give me, a sinner, "his glorious grace"!! I love him too!

September twentieth and twenty-first

September 20:

Galatians 5:13-26

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control...

Since we live by the spirit, let us keep in step with the spirit"

Gosh... I totally need to memorize this one. I meditated on it for a while and this part stood out "Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the spirit" I like that, keep in step with the Spirit... like, walk with the Spirit, and stay by the Spirit. Anyways, this verse is a really good verse to remember during the day.

September 21

Galatians 6:1-4

"Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Carry each others burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Each one of you should test his own actions"

The Beginning

So, we've been reading the One Year Bible since sometime in September 3 and I decided it would be good to put all our thoughts down in a blog. Almost every day, something I read really touches me, and I want to be able to touch bases with Steph about it. So, here I am, blogging.

What touched me today:
Galatians 5:13
You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.

So many times, I see freedom as an opportunity to do something I wouldn't normally be able to do. But, instead, God calls me to use this awesome freedom he's given me to serve others, and to love them. Thats convicting.
