"steadfast love" was in Psalms 136 26 times! Pretty cool huh? Kinda makes you realize really how much God loves us. He writes "To him who made the great lights, for his steadfast love endures forever; the sun to rule over the day, for his steadfast love endures forever; the moon and the stars to rule over the night, his steadfast love endures forever..." and he goes on like that for 26 verses. Really grained the thought in my mind for a long time. "give thanks to the Lord for he is good., for his steadfast love endures forever"

Revelations

Sometimes I feel SO lost in Revelations buttt today, I LOVED it :)
"After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:
                      "Salvation belongs to our God,
                       who sits on the throne,
                       and to the Lamb."
All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying:
                     "Amen!
                      Praise and glory
                      and wisdom and thanks and honor
                      and power and strength
                      be to our God forever and ever.

Devotions Today

So, today, devotions were kindof hard. Reading through Ezekial was tough because the passage isn't about the nice, happy, forgiving, merciful God the we've been reading about in the New Testament. It was about all the sacrifices and rules that he required. Was it just me, or did it kind of make you feel inadequate? Like, God wouldn't love me, because I haven't once sacrificed an animal...it was all so specific, and I've never followed any of the rules. But then I realized, Jesus WAS the sacrifice. I no longer have to follow all those rules and specific guidelines anymore because if Him. I am so grateful :)

Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

James 3 really convicted me. I gossip a lot and talk behind peoples backs, and I need to work on it, because, he's right, I don't want to worship God and curse people out of the same mouth.

So, today, when I was reading Jeremiah, and I was completly struck and convicted that I AM NOT UNDER THE WRATH OF GOD. These people in Jeremiah were, they were help accountable for they're sin. I am going to HEAVEN! I am counted righteous! Praise God! :) Anyways, I put a new note on my wall, its the first on thats not a scripture. It says: You are not under the wrath of God! Be grateful! Lord, keep me humble and grateful!

And now for the scriptures:

Sooo, this morning when i spent time with God, i decided to read Romans, along with the one year bible. I wanted to look over the chapter we were going to read next Sunday, during scripture memory. The chapter was AMAZING! Romans i one of my favorite books in the bible. That and Philippians. So anyway, I just wanted to jot down some good verses in Romans, because i think it'll be encouraging.

Romans 5:2-12
Through Him we have also obtained, access by faith into his grace, in which we stand, and we rejoice, in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because Gods love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has given to us. For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person-though perhaps for a good person one wold dare even to die, but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Since, Therefore we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Catch up too!!

I got really behind too! And i felt the same way you did. I was like "oh nooo! now i have to read, like eight chapters in Isaiah... that book is SO hard!" and then, just like that, I was sucked in, and it didn't drag on at all. There was so many superb verses.

September 28:

Sept 29, 30 and Oct 1st...Catching up!

The passages set aside for these day were FULL of awesome, convicting verses. It was totally a God-thing, because, last night, I was behind 2 days, and I didn't really want to read my devotion, but once I got going, wow. I was sucked in, and I ended up catching myself up because I enjoyed what I was reading so much. :)

I LOVE this verse!It is such awesome encouragement. We just need to HOPE in the LORD!! :)

For He alone chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will- to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the one he loves.

I really like this, because it shows me how much God loves me. He doesn't need me- he chose me "in accordance with his pleasure and will" but he loves me enough to give me, a sinner, "his glorious grace"!! I love him too!

Gosh... I totally need to memorize this one. I meditated on it for a while and this part stood out "Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the spirit" I like that, keep in step with the Spirit... like, walk with the Spirit, and stay by the Spirit. Anyways, this verse is a really good verse to remember during the day.

"Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. The Beginning

So, we've been reading the One Year Bible since sometime in September 3 and I decided it would be good to put all our thoughts down in a blog. Almost every day, something I read really touches me, and I want to be able to touch bases with Steph about it. So, here I am, blogging.

What touched me today:
Galatians 5:13
You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.

So many times, I see freedom as an opportunity to do something I wouldn't normally be able to do. But, instead, God calls me to use this awesome freedom he's given me to serve others, and to love them. Thats convicting.
